I agree….those Lollars definitely represent the PAF tone better at half volume and tone on 7. I also like the Gibson ‘61 burstbuckers dialed the same way.

if you can get hold of an Allen wrench that fits the truss rod adjustment screw, you might save a little money by fixing the fret buzz yourself. Loosen (counterclockwise) the screw a turn or two and allow the wood to take a little relief, bow in the neck. This might stop the strings from brushing against the middle frets.

Interesting how different the Harley Benton sounded. Quite a bit different character. Not worse, but perhaps not hitting the mark on nailing the Tele sound, if that's the specific thing you want out of a Tele-shaped guitar. Sounds good though. Just a bit different.

i own a 52 american original vintage telecaster, American made, lets not exagerate the importance of where the guitar is made. its a wood board with electric pickups and a hopefully well made fretboard that you will not snagg your fingers on. so work what you have, and stop exaggerating the importance of where it comes from

Am now 69, been a strat player for 55 years, build and play guitars. Never had a tele - shock, horror. Bought a cream maple neck HB ST62 strat 2 years ago - am a 'man-in-black' fan - and was frankly shocked by the quality of the thing. Didn't screw the middle pick up down or bevel out the fretboard...😂 A few scratchy frets I polished out, as I do with all my new and used guitars. So. No tele. Not cool as I play more finger style these days. Looked at used Fenders, most needed frets and necks. New ones cost a dollar bob or two. So I bought my HB TE52 a year ago, on the back of the HB strat. Big shock. The frets and fret ends were great. The pickups were great. Sounded great. I fitted brass saddles, only to be able to intonate in pairs by gauge, didn't really need to (but what would a strat player do!). Felt a touch heavy but I don't have other teles to know. Thought about fitting a neck humbucker for slide playing, but not now, it's great as is. In any case, for the money, the build quality is amazing. I might gather more strats - but this is the only tele I'll ever need. HB? Might watch the flimsy feel quality of the controls over time, but cheap to replace. Well...must look at their 335 versions...just for the hell of it! As for retired life, with no woman (or man) in the house, guitars on EVERY wall and amps turned up to 11 and a half! 😂😊

I play every day , and have 3 Good working, good sounding Halrley Benton guitars. the HB-35, 158 €, St-20,79€, and a kit guitar Ja-60, 89 €. tomorrow I get the TE-53 with humbucker. 239€. cheers sir. sounds like a guitar . Nice warmTwang.

If anything you proved that a decent guitar with an excellent amp will sound absolutely phenomenal compared to a great guitar with a shitty amp.

I just watched your video and smiled. I too have a HB “52” tele and just purchased a HB limited edition metallic silver SC junior in mint shape. Both play great even though I did a lot of “weight relief “ on the Tele. Great job🎸🎸🎸

By far the best sound compararive side by side on the net for those telecaster, for my taste, and I'm surprise, the Indonesia is my favorite, warmer sound, China is too bright and the HB, I dont like the saturated sound. Thank for this video.

They all sound decent,However what is the playability like,the feel,I always fing the feel weight of a guitar has a lot of influence on what you play and how you play...even strings are different..

I was a Fender, Gibson, Ibanez and Martin salesman in a large music store for a couple of decades and before that I bought and sold vintage USA guitars as well as being a professional musician myself.. The Squier classic vibes are good playable guitars. It cost 500 hundred dollars more to get just 10 percent better quality in a Fender Mexican build and 500 more than that to get another 10 percent better quality in a USA build. So a Classic Vibe is 80 percent of a great guitar.

I play Larrivee exclusively - great guitars. Did you try a mahogany? I've yet to try their rosewood (OMs). OMs are typically what I got for - the 12 fret models are also pretty special. Your guitar sounds GREAT.
